Cody L. Barnes

Welcome
I am Cody Barnes. I am presently a biologist. My research and professional interests span a diverse range of taxa, from mammals to amphibians, and I hope to delve even deeper into interdisciplinary ecological experiences. Further, I am also interested in applying technological solutions for increasing our knowledge of ecosystems.

My teaching philosophy aims to guide students in the application of the inquiry-based and active-learning strategies. Such strategies are integral for effectively educating the next generation of scientists and empowering learning from a diversity of perspectives. Further, my mentoring philosophy focuses on strengthening links between in-class learning and authentic research experiences, both in the laboratory and the field. In this capacity, I strive to guide students through early applied research experiences with the intention of developing impactful and inclusive leaders in our communities.
